Intermediate 2
Intermediate 2 Biology is divided into three units:
- Unit 1 - Living Cells
- Unit 2 - Environmental Biology and Genetics
- Unit 3 - Animal Physiology
Each unit is assessed using a NAB (issued by the the SQA). A pupil will be given at least 1 week's notice of the assessment in order that they can prepare themselves appropriately. In order to receive a course award for Intermediate 2 Biology pupils must gain at least 60% or more marks in a NAB for each unit of work. In line with SQA and school policy, pupils will be given two attempts to achieve the required standard for each unit.
If you have any questions regarding continual assessment throughout the course, do not hesitate to contact your class teacher.
To assist in revision for NABs and examinations, the department has produced a series of revision guides. These are available for download here. In addition to the text based files, MP3 files are also available. Please contact your class teacher for more information.
Revision notes for units 1 to 3 are now available for download below. Each unit has been split into at least 4 smaller subunits. A further assessment covering units 1 to 3 will take place in April. Further details to follow.
