
Ideas for S3 - S6
Some ideas for home education for S3-S6, when school is closed, or a pupil is unable to get into school.

Study skills: choose a topic of interest or related to a school subject, and ask child to set 5 or 6 questions, they then research them, and produce a colourful mindmap of findings

- Spelling: Try building mnemonics for words you find difficult to spell, eg ‘because’ – ‘big elephants can always use small elephants’.
- Spelling: Look through your jotters and make post-it notes for words you frequently mis-spell

- Get your folders in order
- Read through your notes and use a highlighter to identify each key word
