September 2009
Knox Academy has a new battery recycling point situated in the main foyer near the school office.
All types of 'small' (e.g. AAA/AA) batteries can be recycled here and can be brought in by pupils from home.
A reminder that S1-S3 pupils are not allowed to leave the school grounds at break time.
Rosehall is only available to S4-S6.
The annual book-fair from Scholastic comes to Knox the week beginning 28th September.
As always the book-fair will include current and classic titles from the world of children’s books alongside posters and stationery. For every item that is sold the school will receive commission which will go towards obtaining books for the school library.
On Wednesday the 30th September from 4.30 pm – 7 pm the fair will be open for you to come along and browse and buy from the wide selection available. A perfect opportunity to start Christmas shopping or sponsor a book from the fair.
To take part in the sponsor a book campaign all you need do is purchase a book from the fair and sign the sponsorship label. You will receive a certificate of your sponsorship and in the first Knox News of the new session 2010 an update of the amount of issues a sponsored book has had will be published. A great way to develop resources within Knox Academy Library, I’m sure you agree.
For more details about the book-fair please contact Mr Plain, School Librarian.
