3 February 2017

It has been another busy week here at Knox and the days seem to be flying past.

Senior pupils hit the ground running early on in the week as they had their first taste, this session, of sitting exams in the Hall. The pupils seemed to cope well with the National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher English exams, and I’m hoping that they are similarly sanguine about the various Maths exams next week.

On Tuesday night, some of our senior linguists presented to Haddington Twinning Association about their visit to Aubigny. On member of the audience reported, “Everyone commented on how much they had enjoyed hearing about their experiences during their stay. French food and French hospitality seem to have made quite an impression!” Thanks to Ms McBride for supporting the pupils and to the Twinning Association for extending their kind invitation.

On Wednesday evening we held an information evening for parents of pupils in S3, 4 and 5, to explain option choices for next year. We had great input from colleagues from East Lothian Works, Edinburgh College, Queen Margaret University and the Foundation Apprenticeship scheme, alongside Jennifer Jones from Skills Development Scotland. There will be an opportunity later on in the month for parents to revisit the various offers we make for pupils at an open afternoon held in the school – look out for more information.

Next week the school closes at 12.05pm until Tuesday 21st February.

Have a great week.
