The Senior and U14 East Lothian Schools Badminton Competition are this Friday at Meadowmill. We will be taking both a Senior and an U14 Team, each consisting of 5 Girls and 5 Boys.

U14 players wishing to play should come to Badminton Lunch Time Club today where you will get the chance to ‘try out’ for the team.

The Eco-Committee will be meeting today (Tuesday) at lunch time (around 1:20) in Miss Laudi's room. All members are encouraged to attend.

EDF Energy's four year programme focuses on the kills required to maintain their power stations. This could be one of their coal, gas or nuclear plants around the UK. As well as technical skills, they will also help you develop the attitudes and behaviours essential to the safe operation of their power stations. Upon completion, you'll be awarded a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Certificate.
The programme runs for four years, the first two of which are based at the Royal Naval base at HMS Sultan near Portsmouth, Hampshire. During this time you'll undergo training in academic and workshop environments to ensure you gain an excellent introduction to engineering and develop a strong skills foundation. Part of this programme also covers the development of life skills, like confidence and communication.

What you need to apply:
National 5 or equivalent, including Maths, English and 2 of either Science, Technical or Engineering subjects.
A talent for practical subjects
Desire to learn and develop your skills
Willingness to relocate as required.

Torness power station is holding two information days for applicants. Advert goes live on 1 November 2017 and will close on 15 January 2018. The information days will prove invaluable to anyone considering a career with EDF Energy.
To find out more and meet the team call along to Torness on Saturday 11 November and Sunday 10 December. There will be four sessions on each day - 9:30, 11:00, 13:00, and 14:30.
