If you have a quick minute have a look at the video below which involved a number of S3 pupils who stepped up to the plate to be apart of the SkySports Leadership Team... leading events for local primary schools. This was their FIRST event!! And they smashed it.

All pupils involved stepped out their comfort zone and challenging their confidence and social skills (what the initiative is all about). All becoming coaches or leaders/organisers. The 28 S3 pupils led the event for 140 Primary 4 pupils.

S3 pupils have a busy time ahead - work experience comes straight after activities week, so we are preparing pupils now to do their final bits and pieces before they hit the workplace!  You can help at home by going through the final checklist summary attached below and checking that all the "t"s are crossed and "i"s are dotted.  Please give me a call if you need any more information. Spare log books and supervisor report forms can be printed off from the website or picked up from the school office.

Good luck to all S3 pupils!

Self found forms and the letter of understanding (essential reading for employers!) are now available on the Work Experience page.  If you are in S3 and are organising your own placement for June 6th - June 10th you can print off a copy for yourself or download it to your computer and send it electronically to your potential employer.

S3 pupils will start thinking about their work placement which this session will take place from June 6th - June 10th 2016.  You should noet that this is immediately after Activites Week and immediately before the start of S4, so it will be a very busy time for parents and pupils!

You can find out all you need to know by hovering over the School Info tab on the Knox home page and clicking on "Work Experience" at the bottom of the list.

Any questions, please contact Miss Easson, or the FAQ document on the web site.

Work experience is closer than you think, coming hard on the heels of activity week.  So if you're in the middle of packing or planning for the activites week, have a thought for Monday June 1st when your child will be stepping out as a working person.  I have put out notices through the school bulletin and they are below for you to check at home:

Pupils need to phone their employer to check all is fine for June 1st.

Safety footwear - if this required, please alert me and I can order safety boots

Log books and supervisor reports - all pupils should have these to take home before the end of the week

Transport costs - bus fares will be reimbursed on production of bus tickets after the placement. ...
