All pupil reservation and overdue notices are now sent to pupil edubuzz e-mail accounts. Pupils should regularly check their accounts if they have requested any library items and also to ensure they haven't gone overdue on items. If a pupil would prefer to get notices to a home e-mail account please see Mr Plain in the library where you can update your record. During the summer if you are tidying your room or clearing your brother/sister's room as they prepare to leave for university, please return any library books you find to the nearest branch library. The branch library will send them back to school for you.

The Knox Academy expedition to China is fast approaching and I’m sure that you are thinking about how you can get in touch with us if you need to.
Please bear in mind that the school office will be closed and so all queries need to go through Outlook Expeditions. The following information (click here for more detail) will therefore provide you with alternatives:
If you have any routine questions while your son or daughter is away, please call The Customer Support Team during office hours on 01248 672 770. They can deal with routine queries such as:
- Has the group checked in?
- Is there any update?
- Have there been any changes or calls out of the ordinary?
If you have an urgent need to contact the team in-country, for example to communicate a family emergency, you can call the Operations Room directly on 01248 672 799.
Please only call the Operations Room directly if you need to contact your son or daughter urgently.

Tom Gates (Class of 2010) has recently been awarded a Bachelor of Law (Hons) from Glasgow University. Congratulations to Tom from all the staff at Knox Academy.
If you know of other recent graduations or other achievements please let us know; we are always interested in hearing how former pupils have progressed in their studies and life experiences.
We feel that within the school pupils are regularly recognised and praised for their achievements and we would like to publicise this by improving the sports section on the school website.
It is our intention to write weekly updates on pupils achievements along with general sport around the school in the new sports column.
We would appreciate if you could take part in answering our short questionnaire (click here) and inform us on any other suggestions or comments.
Thank you,
Lucy Brown and Annabel Jackson (Sports Leaders)

Primary 7 pupils received a letter this week regarding procedures should the school be closed in the event of an emergency eg during periods of inclement weather. In the letter parents/carers are referred to this website for advice about keeping children safe when home alone - the document referred to can be viewed here.
This document was featured in a previous news update during Session 2013-2014.
A short video (by David Gilmour) of the Queen's Baton Relay for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games in Haddington last night featuring Jodie Lavin can be viewed here.
UPDATED: BBC Coverage of the route through Haddington filmed by the BBC (no sound) and uploaded by John Hamilton.
S4 pupils are all placed and ready to go out on work placement on Monday morning. Pupils are attending their final lesson this week. We will be looking at final plans including travel, ( bus fares will be reimbursed on production of the tickets), diaries and supervisor report forms will be issued, along with instructions on how to shake hands and smile on the first day! Pupils should have been making contact with their supervisors this week by phone just to introduce themselves and finalise any last minute details. I wish all the pupils the very best for their placement next week. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at school if you have any issues and don't forget to contact employers and Knox if your child is absent on any of the days.
I am confident our S4 pupils will represent themselves and the school in the best possible light,
Miss Easson
School Leavers must ensure that their locker is emptied and locker keys returned by Friday 27 June 2014. During the holidays all S6 lockers will be emptied and reallocated.
F Forrest
In addition if you were unable to attend the Leavers' Ceremony and have ordered a yearbook these should be collected as soon as possible. A couple of S6 still have to make the final payment and this still needs to be paid. The additional DVD containing the Leavers' Montage and Pantomime will follow after the summer holidays.
