At break and lunchtime, if pupils do not use the bins for their rubbish in the social area, it is likely that the area will be closed. Janitorial staff cannot take up all afternoon collecting other people's rubbish. Please use the bins provided. Mrs Falconer

Could all S6 pupils please pay their deposit of £10 using the school online payment system, using YB18 as a reference, before the 9th February. If a deposit is not made before this time you will not be ordered a yearbook.

There are 6 Italian Explorers who have not registered their raffle tickets - please do so this week! There are also a few outstanding payments (recent payment date was Wednesday 24 January) - as indicated at the start of the process, if there are difficulties at any point please contact us in advance so that arrangements can be put in place and/or support provided as required.
By the end of this week (Friday 2 February 2018) you should have returned the following documentation:
- Consent Form (some had missed out elements)
- Code of Conduct (some new Explorers were recently issued with this)
- Collective Passport Form
- 3 x Passport Approved Photographs
- An idea of rooming wishes - use the form provided - speak with Mrs Ball if required
We will be holding a meeting before the February Break - watch out for further information. It is vital that all documentation is returned on time to avoid delays to the whole team of Italian Explorers.
Positive Destinations In2Coaching Academy 2018 is a fully funded opportunity that provides a combination of sports based activities and tailored education. We are currently looking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic and reliable young people 16 – 24 years old who have a passion for sport and who would be able to commit to the project for up to 16 hours per week over a 16 week period.
The Coaching Academy provides:
- Sports coaching experience in Football and Athletics
- SCQF Level 5 in Sports Leadership Qualification
- Quality, structured sports coaching sessions and the opportunity to participate in sport and physical activity
- The opportunity to volunteer and experience being part of a major sporting event
- Sportscotland “Introduction to Multi-skills” training
- Emergency First Aid at work
- Positive Coaching Scotland training
- Advice and guidance on further education and training opportunities
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
The project will be delivered between February and April 2018 at Bangholm Sports Pavilion, however, city wide travel to alternative venues will be expected over the programme. An information day detailing the project will take place on Tuesday 6th February, 10 am – 12 pm at The Royal Commonwealth Pool, Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh.

Miss Jeffrey , applications need submitted no later than Thursday 1st February 2018. All who register their interest will then be invited to attend the Information Day stated above, where they will get a full project overview, meet the course tutors and take part in a discussion with the tutors on their suitability to gain a place on the course.
Girls junior netball team returns this Wednesday from 3:50pm to 4:30pm in the main sports hall.

For those that attending the Manchester City trip on Wednesday 7th March, can you please ensure your PC1s and payment are made my Friday 2nd February at the latest. If you can no longer attend please come and let the PE department know.
There will be NO curriculum time session today, please just got to P5 class as normal, however Wednesday morning, and Thursday after school (back pitches) will run as normal.
If you are still to pay for the bus, please bring your £3.00 to the PE dept. ASAP.
There will be a meeting TODAY (Tuesday) during lunch for all PGL Explorers in the PE classroom at 1:30.
Everyone must attend to discuss very important information. If you cannot make the meeting you must speak to Mr Elms at some point today.
