All S1 pupils are invited to see the Lyceum Theatre's A Christmas Carol on Friday 13th December, leaving Knox at 9am and return by 1pm.

Author Linda Newbery, winner of the Costa Children's Book Prize, is visiting Knox on Tuesday to talk with S1’s about her new book The Key to Flambards.

The books will be available to buy for £7 and they will be signed by the author.

Can all those who are interested in joining a girls rugby team please come to a meeting in Mr Mackay's room (maths) at break time on Monday (02/09/19). 

This team aims to meet once a week and the activities will be based around what the majority want to do (not necessarily contact). All new players to the team, and even to the sport, are welcome! 

The Eco-Committee is planning on setting up a donation/collection system for uniform items. Rather than throwing uniform clothing away once they've been outgrown, we'd like to give them a new life with someone else. In order to set this up smoothly, we're looking for donations of clothing hangers and portable clothing racks. If you have any of these items, please bring them in to the school, addressed to the Eco-Committee or bring them to Miss Laudi's room. Thank you in advance for your help!

A reminder that the next New York payment is due this Friday, 30 August 2019. Please see Mr Redford if you have any concerns about making the remaining payments.

There will also be a meeting in Mr Redford's room tomorrow (Thursday) at 1:30 pm for all pupils going to New York. Attendance is essential.

Chris Trotter, our new Careers Advisor, will be interviewing S6 pupils over the next 2 weeks. This is a good opportunity to meet Chris as he will be supporting you in your final year of school. He can be found in the Librarian's office in the School Library. Appointments can be made with Chris at any time by speaking to your Guidance teacher, Mr Flood, the School Librarian or to Chris himself.

All College, PreVoc and Foundation Apprenticeship courses start this week. If you have any concerns about your course or need to confirm transport arrangements, please see Mr Flood Period 1 TODAY (Tuesday 27 August) in his Office.

This is just a reminder that anyone who would like to volunteer with the Paired Reading scheme should come to see Miss McBride asap. The programme will be up and running soon so it would be great to have some more S6 involved. It is also very valuable experience for CVs and UCAS.

The Knox Dance lunch time club will be starting on Thursday 29th August 2019 in the small gym. This will start at 1:15 in the small gym. All years and abilities are welcome. If you are unable to make this session however would like to come along or find out more information please speak to Miss Graham.

Can those that attended netball on Wednesday (S2) please come and see Ms Borwick, very quickly during break time today (Friday) to confirm if they can attend the netball tournament on Thursday 5 September 2019 at Ross High.

GIRLS: if you are in interested in joining the girl's football team, please attend a short meeting on Monday (26 August 2019) lunch time (at 1.30pm) in the small gym. If you cannot attend, but are interested, please let Ms Borwick know.

The geography department have made up a list of what you can watch on TV (this week) to improve your knowledge and understanding in Geography.  Take a look at Mr Clark's twitter feed for details of programs relating to geography.  You might learn something new!! If you cant access the twitter post take a look at the posters outside Mr Clark and Miss Stobie's Classrooms (M8 & M9) for programme details.

There will be a meeting for those interested in joining a Knox dance club. The meeting will be on Thursday 22 August 2019 in the small gym at 13:20. If you are unable to make this however would like to find out more information, please speak to Miss Graham in PE. All years are welcome!

Are you 16 or over and have a passion for all things classical music? You could become a RSNO Young Ambassadors for the 2019/20 season!

Young Ambassadors are invited to attend forums throughout the season working alongside the RSNO team to debate the direction of youth engagement within classical music.  Ambassadors also gain work experience opportunities, receive free tickets for RSNO concerts and get the chance meet RSNO musicians and conductors!

The Eco-Committee will be back in action this year to plan more environment-oriented events and projects for Knox Academy. If you'd like to join the Eco-Committee to participate in the planning and running of our initiatives this year, come along to our first meeting! We'll be meeting in Miss Laudi's room (T1.2 - modern languages) on Wednesday at lunch time starting at 1:15pm. Feel free to bring your lunch along!
