Thanks so much to our fantastic Amnesty group who ran a bake sale to raise money for people around the world who have had their rights taken away.

We raised £67.80 and there is still money coming in so thanks so much to everyone who came to support us.  Merry Christmas to you all.  :-)

There will be a festive stall in the social area at Break on Thursday 16 December 2021, where Econect (Knox Academy's Young Enterprise team) will be selling tote bags, featuring hand-drawn designs.

The team will be taking orders whilst showcasing their designs: one bag is £3,99 and there's a special deal where you can get two bags for £7!

Sadly orders won't be completed until after the holidays. If you have any queries or would like to know more then please visit our website at knox.is/econect, or send us an email at econectka@gmail.com. You can also follow us on Instagram

As you are aware things have not settled with the pandemic – as such we are preparing for classes to be outdoors after the holidays.  Please be assured if the weather is exceptionally bad (ie recent storms, heavy rain, etc) we will be allocated a classroom somewhere in the school to do theory lessons instead.

If we are allowed to continue to use the 2 indoor practical teaching spaces we have (games hall and small gym), we will have to limit the numbers accessing these spaces. There are a few times in the week where we have 4 classes in the department with limited indoor practical teaching space so some classes will definitely be outdoors whatever the outcome of the government guidelines.

With this in mind, you should come prepared to be outside – bringing a change of kit now becomes really important!  You should think about the fact that you might get wet or muddy and no matter what, it will be cold, so you should ensure you have warm clothing to wear for PE lessons.  The thing most pupils tend to forget is a change of footwear – it can be very uncomfortable to spend a day following PE with damp feet.

Please also remember the changing spaces do not have adequate ventilation and therefore you should NOT be spending anymore time than is necessary in the changing rooms.  Changing rooms 1-4 must have both doors propped open.  The only time these doors are shut is when PE staff lock them to keep your property safe (remember you can always hand valuables in to your PE teacher for safe keeping as an alternative - often this is the best thing to do as we can not 'man' the changing rooms at all times).

Many thanks for your cooperation and for ensuring you are as prepared as possible for the coming months.
