Applications Open Friday 17 February 2023

The University of Strathclyde are delighted to be offering the programme in person again in 2023 for school pupils in S5 across Scotland after two years of hosting the programme virtually.

The programme is aimed at those with a specific interest in Maths and Science, and there are 80 places available. Participants will hear from staff at the University of Strathclyde who will provide an insight into studying and working in the field of engineering, as well as hearing from colleagues from NASA. Participants will also take part in a group project throughout the week which they will present to a selection panel made up of staff from the University and NASA on the final afternoon with a prize for the winning team.

The programme is non-residential and therefore pupils should be able to make their way each day, 9am-5pm to the Strathclyde University Campus in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. . A link to the online application form will also be available here from Friday 17 February 2023, when applications open.

The deadline for applications is Monday 13 March 2023. The selection panel will meet in mid-March and all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by Friday 31 March 2023. In the application form, pupils are asked to supply the name and contact details for a teacher who can provide a statement in support of their application. On Monday 6 February, the Eco-Committee carried out a litter pick around Haddington. In a single period we collected 3.05kg of litter! We noticed that the most common litter items around town were: cigarettes, small bits of paper and plastic wrappers, chocolate wrappers, crisp packets, bottle caps, and chewing gum.

If everyone in town – including Knox students – does their part to bin their litter, Haddington would undoubtedly be a cleaner place!

Remember our Eco-Code: When you put your litter in the bins, everyone wins!
