"In 2020, I started collecting rubbish from one tiny stretch of beach at Longniddry Bents because I was really interested by the different kinds of plastic gathering there. I decided to go back to the beach 100 times (interrupted by several lockdowns!) and make a note of what and how much I was finding. I ended up collecting 26,513 pieces of plastic! One week ago, Knox Academy held a Festive Fayre on Saturday 10 December 2022. The expectations were high!  When the day came, everyone had the same ambition: to have success, fun and make a profit. I decided that everything I made was going to the “My Name’5 Doddie Foundation’’. The foundation is a charity set up by Doddie Weir, an ex-Scotland rugby player, and is all about finding a cure for MND (Motor Neuron Disease). MND is NOT a contagious infection that can be spread. It is a disease in which your muscles slowly waste away until your lungs fail, and you sadly die. This is a curable disease, but it is underfunded and with more money they may find a cure and possibly sooner. I raised £302 for this cause, and it is all thanks to every one that donated, took a flyer or even just saw...

Knox Community 'pop-up' Gospel Choir was launched in October 2022 and have been rehearsing every Thursday afternoon in preparation for the Knox Christmas Concert 2022. Members in the choir include p7, S1 and S6 students, parents, teachers, admin staff, learning support staff, a local musician and senior management. It's been a wonderful way to bring people across our wider school community together in a joyful, creative way!
