S4 pupils are all placed and ready to go out on work placement on Monday morning.  Pupils are attending their final lesson this week.  We will be looking at final plans including travel, ( bus fares will be reimbursed on production of the tickets), diaries and supervisor report forms will be issued, along with instructions on how to shake hands and smile on the first day!  Pupils should have been making contact with their supervisors this week by phone just to introduce themselves and finalise any last minute details.  I wish all the pupils the very best for their placement next week.  Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at school if you have any issues and don't forget to contact employers and Knox if your child is absent on any of the days.

Thanks to all the pupils, mums, dads, aunties et al who have helped in finding placements for S3 pupils.  We are nearly there, but not quite.  Currently we have 24 pupils unplaced and I would urge parents and pupils to get forms signed and handed in to school as soon as possible.  After Friday 2nd May we cannot guarantee that  placements will be processed in time and pupils may have to remain at school during the placement week.  There remain a few placements on the database that can be booked immediately but there are not enough to go around, so if there are forms on kitchen tables, with employers or at the bottom of school bags, please hand them in to the guidance base as soon as possible.

Thanks in anticiaption,

I am pleased that we now have nearly 50 pupils booked on to the website and their placements are secure.  We have a few self found forms returned to us, but not nearly enough!  Speaking to some of the third year pupils, many forms are still lying around in bags and have yet to be given to employers.  Can I ask that parents and carers "chivvy" pupils along to get forms handed in?  It's important that employers are given at least a week to complete the form as there is quite a lot of detail that they will not have to hand.  Please keep nagging - I am!  The final deadline is just the other side of the Easter Holidays - Tuesday 22nd and this is when the completed forms should be with the school.  Thanks!

P.S.  If you are having difficulty getting hold of an empolyer or a suitable...
