NPA 5 Visual Communciations

Course Outline

This course allows you to create graphic designs, using a range of software skills using Indsutry Standard.

creative software - Adobe illustrator and Photoshop.

You can choose which themes and creative style you wish to use when being creative designing - logos, staff uniforms, merch. and magazines, flyers,

posters, app. interfaces, tickets, adverts etc.

 

You MUST speak to Mr Tait if you wish to choose this course (limited spaces) before adding this to your course choice form.

 

Assessment - Three Units - based on projects, no exam, no written tests just show off your Graphic Design Creativity in a portfolio of your work.

Progression - after completing this course in S4/5/6 you can choose a L6 Course to further your Graphic and Creative Skills.  

NPA L5 and L6 - use these to help gain entry to - 

HNC in Graphic Design or Visual Communications - use this to gain entry to an HNC at College.

HND in Graphic Design or Visual Communications - complete the 1 year HNC then join year 2 of the HND.

 

Degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communiocations - join Year 2 of the degree with the HND Graphic Design or Visual Communications.

So you can complete  a Degree with 1-2 Highers and 2+ N5/L5s. Rather than 4-5 Highers after School. 

 

Prior Learning / Entry - no prior learning in Graphics is required, as long as you are prepared to;

  • try out new techniques
  • build skills over time
  • be creative
  • show off your skills
  • complete your portfolio by the Easter Holidays.  

 

Please note - if you choose N5 Graphics (you must have done S3 Graphics) you will complete this NPA L5 course automatically as you learn skills and progress through N5 Graphics.

You won't do any extra learning or assessments to gain the NPA L5.
