KNOX PUPILS SELECTED FOR PAiS

Several Knox Academy pupils have been selected for East Lothian's Performance Athletes in Schools (PAiS) programme. The programme is designed to develop the performance of pupils with outstanding potential in certain sports by providing them with extra skills training, conditioning training and dietary and nutritional information. The following pupils have been selected this year;

WINNING START FOR KNOX IN NEW STRIPS

Knox Academy senior boys football team got off to a winning start in their new strips with victory over Broughton High School in the Scottish Cup. The strips were very kindly jointly paid for by Knox Academy Support Group (KASG) and Joe Forte who runs Joe Forte Sports on Haddington High Street.

The game finished 3-2 to Knox, with a double from Anes Subasic and the winner coming from Callum Hamilton. Knox will face Linlithgow Academy in the 2nd round. Read more about WINNING START FOR KNOX IN NEW STRIPS

BRIAN TAYLOR'S BIG DEBATE

On Friday 7 October, Higher Modern Studies pupils from across East Lothian took part in a Question Time Debate on BBC Radio Scotland.

Many of Knox's pupils asked questions to the panel on issues such as Youth Unemployment, Volunteering and Sectarianism.

7 October 2011

The week was off to an exciting start with the annual S2 Land Yacht competition on Monday and Tuesday. Led by the staff of the Technical Department, all S2 pupils had the opportunity to take part. In groups, the pupils had to design, cost and build a model of a working land yacht. The models were road tested using the power of a hair dryer. Congratulations to all involved and many thanks to the staff who organised the event and the guest judges who had the difficult task of allocating points. Read more about 7 October 2011

UCAS DEADLINES 2012

All pupils applying through the UCAS system must adhere to the following deadlines in order to allow staff time to check and complete the form before being sent to UCAS. All pupils should have been in touch with their advisor about their Personal Statement and this should be nearing completion.

P7 PARENTS' EVENING

Knox Academy will be holding its open night for prospective S1s for session 2012-13 on Tuesday 11 October at 6 pm. 

Any parent who is interested in sending their child (who will be in P7 at present) to Knox Academy is most welcome to attend. 

There will be an opportunity to have a tour of the school, ask any questions that they might have and meet other prospective parents.
