We were delighted to welcome children and young people back to school at the start of the new term in August.
We are extremely grateful to you as parents and carers for your understanding and ongoing support through what has been a very difficult 18 months for everyone as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its implications for education and learning have been significant and far-reaching. Full details are available in the letter from Nicola McDowell, Head of Education on Friday 3 September 2021.
At Knox Academy, we have been working hard to achieve Cycle Friendly School Status Award with Cycling Scotland. As part of our application, we need to create a School Travel Plan which includes information from parents and carers. We would be grateful if you could take the time to complete this very short Travel To School Survey to support our efforts.

COVID-19 asymptomatic testing programme for school/ELC staff and pupils Dear Parent/Carer, I am writing to let you know about the Schools/ELC Asymptomatic Testing Programme, which is in place as part of the package of COVID-19 risk reduction mitigations in schools across Scotland, and to give you more information about how the programme operates in our school. Full details are available in the letter issued on 18 August 2021 from our Head Teacher.
We provide free Home to School Transport (HTS) for East Lothian pupils who live more than two miles away from their local primary or secondary school.
The pupil's home address is defined as being that of their parent or legal guardian, not the address of a childminder or relative who may care for them on school days.
In the event of parental separation, the home address is defined as the address of the guardian receiving the Child Benefit payment.
Free school transport isn't available if you choose to send your child to a school that isn't their local primary or secondary school.
Please contact your school office for advice on how to submit an electronic application form for Home to School Transport. Paper applications are no longer issued.
