Any problem with Home to School transport must be reported on the day of the occurrence to allow investigation and circumstances to be clear.

Therefore, please use the following means of registering any problem; do not phone the company direct in the first instance.

The main contact is Andrew McLellan Transport Officer 01620 827700 or via email transportservices@eastlothian.gov.uk

Getting through to the phone number above isn’t always easy so here are some others:

  • 01620 827303             Alan Kelley
  • 01620 827660             David Kerr
  • 01620 827367             Adele King
  • 01620 827737             Diana Budziosz

The reporting of problem to the transportation division, on the day of the occurrence, is vital to the resolution of the problem finding out 6 months later is no use!

Thank-you for your cooperation in this matter.

S4 and S5 pupils were issued with their Course Choice Booklet at an assembly yesterday along with their coursing appointment letter and a recommendation sheet.

It is the pupil's responsibility to get their recommendation sheet completed by their teachers.

The sheet must be completed and brought with them to the course choice interview as coursing for next year will not be able to be done without this.

The Senior Course Choice Booklet for 2012-2013 can be viewed here.

Thank you to all the parents/carers who contact Knox before the school day to inform us if their youngster is going to be absent.  Sometimes the telephone lines are very busy and your patience is appreciated.  We also appreciate the letters sent in with pupils when they return to school.

Following a telephone call, pupils are recorded as having a verbal explanation for absence, however a letter from their parent/carer is required before the reason for absence is confirmed.   If absences remain unexplained they will be changed to ‘N’ for ‘unreasonable excuse’ or ‘T’ for “truancy’.

For pupils in receipt of an Educational Maintenance Allowance, absences can affect the payments they receive.

Please help us by:

  • Continuing to contact the school before the school day if your son/daughter is going to be absent (the office is open from 8 am).
  • Sending notes regarding appointments in to school at least one day before the appointment (including child's name and registration class).
  • Sending notes when your child returns to school (including child's name, registration class, dates of absence and reason for absence).
  • Remembering that absence notes can be sent via email.  If you wish to do this please email knoxacademy@knox.elcschool.org.uk with your child’s name and registration class in the subject line.

Your help is most appreciated.
