A new weekly bulletin of library news will be launching in the coming weeks... more details will follow soon.
The library will host an exhibition from East Lothian Museum Service for the next two weeks.
Rags to Riches highlights the lives of four emmigrants from East Lothian who all went on to a level of fame in their new home.
The exhibition focuses on John Ewart, David Syme, William Robertson Smith and Margaret Home Sievwright.
Rags to Riches will be on display until 11 February 2011.
Books Reading And Writing Awards 2010 are looking for keen readers [S1-4] to be judges in this years awards.
As a judge you will be asked to read three books between now and Christmas, you will also write a small review for each book and discuss books with your fellow judges at a break time convenient to all. Participating pupil judges will then vote for their favourite book. Knox Academy's winner from the shortlist will then go against the favourite of other participating Scottish schools, with the overall winner announced in February 2011.
The awards run by Scottish Book Trust and sponsored by Royal Mail are in their fifth successful year and grow in strength each year.
The shortlisted titles for secondary pupils are:
Crossing the Line by Gillian Philip
Grass by Cathy MacPhail
and
The Witching Hour by Elizabeth Laird

Pupils can now collect order forms for Leckie & Leckie and Bright Red past papers from Mr Plain.
The order deadline is 17th September 2010.
UNIVERSITY ACCESS
Edinburgh University
S5/6 pupils can apply for a Edinburgh University Library reference card. The card allows access to the the book and printed journal collection at Edinburgh University.
Reference cards are issued until the end of June 2011. To apply for a card please see Mr Plain before September 17th.
Queen Margaret University
Pupils in S5/6 can apply for an external membership card with Queen Margaret University. There is no charge for the card but you will be asked for a refunable deposit of £20.
The card allows pupils to borrow 2 items from the univeristy's 21 day loan collection.
