NATIONAL READING HOUR

St Andrew's Day will see Scottish Book Trust launch National Reading Hour during Scottish Book Week.

Between 11am and 12 noon you are encouraged to read for one hour. The aim is to get as many people participating in reading to illustrate the literary history of the nation. It also provides a relaxing start to the weekend or a dedicated time for reading notes and success guides for looming S5/6 Prelims.

OCEAN YOUTH TRUST VIDEO 2012

During Activities Week pupils are given the opportunity to sail onboard a 70ft yacht with the Ocean Youth Trust.

In May 2012 pupils sailed on board James Cook visiting places such as Newcastle, Blyth and Holy Island whilst experiencing life at sea.

The video below has been put together by the Skipper of James Cook to celebrate the achievements of each young person that has sailed on her this season. If you look closely you will be able to spot some Knox pupils enjoying the experience.
