EASTER REVISION

Pupils in S4-6 were issued with the Easter Revision timetable this week, and are encouraged to make use of this facility to assist them with their revision. The timetable is attached for info.

ADDITIONAL INSERVICE DAY

The Scottish Government has confirmed that schools are to close for an additional inservice day during Sessions 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011.  For Session 2008/2009 this additional inservice day will take place on Monday 8th June 2009 throughout East Lothian Council.  Dates for the following two sessions are yet to be agreed.

SQA examinations scheduled for Monday 8th June will not be affected.

SPRING CONCERT - PRIORITY BOOKING

Knox Academy introducted allocated seating at the Christmas Concert and plan to do so again at the Spring Concert (1st April). In an attempt to streamline the process this year, all pupils taking part in the Spring Concert will be allocated a priority booking form which will entitle them to reserve up to 4 seats per family. Forms should be returned to the school office by Wednesday 18th March and seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis. There will no requirement for pupils to queue for tickets until the remaining tickets are put on general sale from Monday 23rd March. Read more about SPRING CONCERT - PRIORITY BOOKING

BURNS COMPETITION SUCCESS

The Knox Academy entry to the East Lothian Council wide Burns Competition coordinated by Library Services has been awarded the overall prize and declared the winner!  A number of individual prizes were also awarded to Knox Academy pupils. 

The competition entry was a real cross-curricular effort involving staff and pupils from English, Art and the School Library.  The overall award means that the school will receive a visit from a well-known author...watch this space for more info.
