S4-S6: PRELIM EXAMINATION TIMETABLE NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2026

We would like to inform parents, carers and students that the S4-S6 Prelim Examination Diet will take place from Friday 20 November to Thursday 10 December 2026.

The prelim examinations provide students with valuable experience of formal examination conditions and help prepare them for their final assessments later in the academic session.

Students should:

  • Check the attached timetable carefully.
  • Note the date, time and location of each examination.
  • Arrive in good time for all examinations.
  • Bring the required equipment for each subject.
  • Speak to their Guidance Teacher or Class Teacher if they have any questions regarding their examinations.

LETTER - HEAD OF EDUCATION STRIKE UPDATE - FEBRUARY 2023

Dear Parent/Carer, 

Further to previous communications in regards to strike action, I can now advise that two further days of strike action on 28 February and 1 March 2023 have been declared by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), the Association of Head Teachers and Deputes Scotland (AHDS), Scottish Secondary Schools Association (SSTA) and National Association of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT). We are anticipating that the above action will go ahead and all services affected have discussed the impact that this action will have on the health and safety of our children and young people given that there will be a significantly reduced number of teaching staff, including those in leadership positions in our schools and Early Learning and Childcare settings. Please see letter issued from Nicola McDowell , dated 20 February 2022, for further details. 

DIVERSITY SHOW/INTERNATIONAL MARKET PLACE/FOOD COURT INFORMATION

Knox Academy is excited to be hosting our inaugural Diversity Evening on Thursday 9 February between 5-9pm.  This evening will celebrate the diversity that exists within our school and local community and the wider theme of diversity/inclusion.  There will be a Food Hall, a Market Place, Workshops and the evening will culminate with a show, which again will cover diverse themes, and include two high profile speakers, Sir Geoff Palmer OBE and Jamie Andrew (Mountaineer).
