MEADOWPARK MATTERS 27.03.2020

To describe recent global events as extraordinary and unprecedented barely touches the surface of how the Corona Virus pandemic has impacted on all our lives. Working from home, social distancing, awareness of viral transference and vigilance in hand-washing have become the new norm.

We all have so much that we need to adapt to and change and I have been incredibly impressed by the interaction between Meadowpark pupils and staff relating to course work and each other as the week progressed. Read more here...Newsletter 27.03.2020

It has been an extraordinary week and I want to send a public note of thanks to all staff here at Meadowpark, our resilient and talented pupils and kind, thoughtful parents. You have all be incredibly patient, supportive and flexible in word and in deed while faced with so much uncertainty. I sincerely hope it isn’t too long before we are properly reunited. Esk class visited Dunbar Town House Museum this week as part of their IDL project on East Lothian and by all accounts had a memorable and worthwhile experience. Because we are able to use cameras given to us by Canon, pupils have been developing their skills as reporters and have taken most of the photos themselves. Pupils have been studying the history of East Lothian and the beginning of a series of trips was in Dunbar. Esk class have also investigated the local economy by considering employment through fishing and farming. Read more here, MM 13.03.2020

Anticipation and excitement has been building all week as we have been frantically selling raffle tickets to raise funds for our Breakfast Club. As promised a mention at the end of this newsletter to those who very kindly donated prizes - we had an overwhelming response not only for prizes but tickets sold resulting in over £500 being raised for our Breakfast Club.
