Search begins for new Torness apprentices

Torness power station has started the search for apprentices to join EDF next September.

The Opportunity 

The chance to achieve an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Certificate, alongside a BTEC Level 3 qualification which offers a starting salary of £16,912. This four-year programme combines practical learning with academic study. You’ll develop specialist skills to maintain and operate our nuclear power stations, working alongside experienced professionals and building a strong foundation for your future career.

The Opportunity

The chance to become a Health Physics Monitor Apprentice. During the course of this 2-year Apprenticeship, you’ll learn from our industry-leading experts and gain valuable experience, whilst studying for Level 2 qualifications in Radiation Protection.  You can expect on-the-job training and the kind of practical experience you simply can’t get in a classroom. Our Health Physics Monitor Apprenticeship offers a starting salary of £25,139.

 

You will provide safety-related advice to operators by taking radiation and contamination measurements using specialist equipment, interpreting the results and applying them to real life scenarios.
