Knox Academy are hosting a Career and Opportunities Fair on Wednesday 15 January 2025 6-8pm. Over 50 business exhibitors will be attending and the full list can be found in this information leaflet.
Fixing for a Future will be offering more sewing workshops next term. Thank you to all pupils who attended the workshops this session.
If you want to learn to sew, or remodel some old clothes into new clothes or items, these workshops are for you. These workshops will run on Thursdays, after school, from 3.45-5.45pm, and the focus is on improving your sewing skills and making items that are against fast fashion (using old items to create new or to make adjustments to items you already have). The workshops will start on Thursday 9 January and then run on 16, 23, 30 January and then on the 6 and 20 February (there will be no workshops during the February holiday).
There will also be a second block of workshops (those doing the first block can stay on for these too if they want and new people can also join them). These will run from Thursday 27 February and then Thursday 6 March (when pupils will show what they have made at our Diversity Event) and then 13, 20 and 27 March and finish on Thursday 3 April.
The sewing workshops will take place in Ms Stobie's room (M9) on the ground floor at the corner of social subjects.
Places are limited to 8 pupils and pupils from all years are welcome to join these.
If you would like to join these workshops (block one, block two, or both) please let Ms Cook (Head Teacher) know by Monday 16tDecember, at the latest, so I can get a consent form out to you and back before the Christmas holidays. You can let me know you are interested by email or by coming to see me.
Hope to hear from some of you soon.
Ms Cook
Due to the high numbers enjoying Christmas lunch there will be two sittings. We ask the S4-S6 pupils to attend at 12.40pm for lunch and then S1-S3 attend at the normal lunchtime of 1.05pm. Lunch will finish for everyone at the normal time of 1.45pm. Once pupils have finished eating their lunch they should leave the dinner hall to allow others a space to eat. Prefects should help with the queue and lunch hall when they have finished their early lunch.
Please see attached the Knox Academy Christmas lunch menu. Students can pay for this as normal using their Young Scot card. The Christmas lunch will take place in the canteen on Tuesday 17 December 2024.
The Knox Christmas Concert will take place on Thursday 12 December 2024 7-9pm.
Tickets have been selling fast with the majority sold so get yours quick!
