We have a fantastic opportunity for an ENGINEERING APPRENTICESHIP at CALEDONIAN BREWERY.

We are looking to offer a 4-years apprenticeship to a worthy school leaver commencing in September 2012 and would like to take the opportunity  to open the applications to any young person who would be interested in an Engineering career with Heineken in the UK.  As the opportunity is based in Edinburgh we thought it would be ideal to ask you if you know anyone who  may be interested. GRAND PRIX WINNERS: KNOX KWN

At the KWN Awards Ceremony on Thursday 3 May 2012, held in Redditch, the Knox KWN Team celebrated outstanding success with the presentation of the UK Grand Prix Award for their thought-provoking film on Knife Crime.  This award is given for the film that demonstrates the best overall performance across all the judging categories in the Panasonic competition. Yesterday the S3 KWN Group (J Calder-Petrie, B Cole, O McHugh, E Munro, R Taylor, S Uddin, A Waddell and C Wright) were accompanied by Mr Dempster and Miss Duff to attend the KWN Awards Ceremony in Redditch.  After an early rise, followed by a flight to Birmingham, they arrived at the Palace Theatre.  The day consisted of screenings of all the entries from across the UK, a "5-ring" photographic workshop, followed in the afternoon, by the awards being announced.  After a tense wait, Knox Academy was the only school left without a certificate or award and amidst rising tension, the announceme Read more about 4 May 2012

YOUNG WRITER OF THE YEAR 2012

Tyne and Esk Writers, Young Writer of the Year Competition has been launched. Let your imagination run wild, entries will be accepted on any topic.

The competition is open to all S1-4 pupils in East and Midlothian schools. East Lothian pupils should give entries to the school librarian.

All entries to be returned to the librarian by Friday 15 June 2012.

S2 MOBEX

A group of S2 Traprain Girls have been taking part in MOBEX over the last few months. This is a programme which offers a range of activities including BMXing, Surfing and Caving. They girls involved have also taken part in a Volunteer Project creating a new pathway in Gullane. All girls involved have said it has been a really enjoyable experience. Well done! HOLIDAY REMINDER
