Knox Academy

Knox Academy gymnast Holly Ramage (4L2) has been selected in the Scottish Women's Artistic Gymnastics Performance Programme for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The programme is in place to support performance gymnasts, who will be aiming to achieve a medal at the games in 2014.

Emma Campbell 6T2, has been taking her poetry skills to the next level by writing a lovely poem dedicated to her Higher Latin Class. As you can see there are some colourful characters!!  Well Done Emma, cannot wait to see more.

Since my last poem my class has changed,

The classroom seems to have been re-arranged,

This class is made of mostly year five,

I don’t know them that well but I’ll give it a try,

Hockey

Knox Academy took part in the S2 girls hockey tournament on Friday 25th March at Meadowmill Sports Centre. Despite having no subs, and entering a mixed team of S1s and S2s, Knox drew 4 of their 6 games. They lost 2-0 to eventual winners Preston Lodge, and 1-0 to runners-up North Berwick "A". Thanks to the commitment of staff and local community members, there are now even more opportunities for pupils at Knox to become involved in sport and physical activity.

Knox Academy Boxing Club now runs every Monday lunchtime in the small gym. The club is a great for pupils to burn off any excess energy, but also helps pupils learn how to control aggression and develop self-discipline. The club is run by local boxing enthusiast, Hamish Colgan who also runs East Lothian Amateur Boxing Club in Haddington. Read more about New Extra-Curricular Clubs at Knox

Knox Academy Extra-Curricular Timetable- Easter Term Feb-April 2010

On the Wednesday 25 February, the Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher Business Management pupils gathered along with some representatives from the local community for the inaugural Knox Academy Business Question Time.

Local business people joined the panel – Joe Forte from Joe Forte Sports, Suzanne Haughey from The Health and Beauty Centre, Mike Hoppe from Subway Haddington and Gillian Burgess who is Manager of M&Co Haddignton. Read more about BUSINESS QUESTION TIME
