MEADOWPARK MATTERS NEWSLETTER 18.12.2020

Firstly an apology for not getting a newsletter out last week, we were just working too hard!

I think “Festive Fun” sums everything up at the moment.  Christmas for me has always been the best time to work in schools, and this year is no different.

We had Christmas jumper day last week and managed to raise a fabulous £44 for Save the Children by doing that.  Thank you to all the families and carers who supported it.

There has been some brilliant Christmas crafting going on this week (as well as Literacy, Numeracy etc…..promise).  It’s such a shame that we couldn’t host a Christmas Fair to show off the skills, but I can clearly see an enterprise project leading to a summer fair and festival.  We have really enjoyed supporting our good friends at Our Community Kitchen, by making Christmas cards.  These are to be sent by the community kitchen to members of the local community who for a variety of reasons may be quite isolated.  I’m sure they’ll appreciate them and enjoy our Christmas messages.

I’ve been really proud to hand out Diligence Awards to a number of our pupils today.  Those young people who gained awards will take the certificates home and I’m sure our parents and carers will all be very proud of them too.  Not everyone gets an award and it is a big achievement so a real “well done” to them.

Monday and Tuesday coming will no doubt be full of more Christmas fun.  We will be having an end of term assembly on Monday just before lunch, followed by a screening of an online pantomime in the afternoon (oh yes we will……).  For those young people who aren’t in school at the moment, I’ll send links to the assembly and the panto so everyone can be fully involved.

Wishing you a very happy and safe Christmas,

Mr Johnson and the Meadowpark Team
