'As you may know, Knox has been celebrating the Burns 250 anniversary in many ways: Burns poetry reading and writing in English, "Tam O' Shanter' illustrations in Art, Burns songs in Music, and the life of Burns in History. If you have a son or daughter in S1 or S2, he or she may well have entered a poem or drawing in a local or national competition, or won a prize in a Burns quiz.

To mark this event, Knox Academy is offering you the chance to purchase the commemorative £2 uncirculated coin at a discounted price. The reverse of the coin features an extract from the original manuscript of "Auld Lang Syne", while the outer ring contains the text 1759 ROBERT BURNS 1796, £2.

The coin is housed in a presentation pack which contains an illustrated booklet on the life and works of Robert Burns. It is available from Knox at the discounted price of £4.74 (Retail price £7.78)'.

If you are interested in purchasing a commemorative coin please contact Mr Plain (Librarian).

Thank you.

We are reaching that time of year again when sickness bugs are doing the rounds.  For information please see following link to the Health Protection Agencies pages on the norovirus or the attached FAQ document.

http://www.hpa.org.uk/infections/topics_az/norovirus/menu.htm

The key aspects to note to prevent spread are the need for scrupulous hygiene, particularly during food preparation, and the need for those affected to remain away from work/school for 48 hours after symptoms have stopped.
