Pupils and staff continue to make excellent use of our wonderful environment by participating in a Daily Mile. This began with one class recognising the need to be able to move freely after the early morning start and transport to Meadowpark from home. In essence most of our pupils leave their warm cosy homes get into a warm cosy taxi or bus and then came into a warm cosy school – ideal conditions for sleepiness and apathy to creep in. And so the Daily Mile was started. All classes follow their own route, some doubling up but each route is a mile and takes approximately 25 minutes, forming an essential element to our soft start. SQA have published their YOUR COURSEWORK information booklet for this session.
Your coursework, whether a project, portfolio or assignment, shows us how well you know the subject and gives you extra marks to add to your final grade.
After a number of parents/carers have experienced issues with the delivery of our Daily Updates, and some investigation, we are going to start sending these from office@ka-net.org.uk.
If you have just started receiving again after a period of time, please let us know. Sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused over recent weeks. It appears that even though emails have successfully been sent that email providers such as Google Gmail and Apple iCloud have been rejecting the MailChimp emails before delivery.

Have you wondered what the Parent Council is all about? Thought about joining?
This is a bumper catch up because last week was a short week in school for me with the holiday Monday and then a SEIC Leadership Workshop on Friday. More of that later.
Staff and pupils continue to make progress across the curriculum with more pupils than ever attending classes in Knox, as well as preparing for wider engagement opportunities including the creation of a community playground. East Lothian School Uniform Bank was set up by a local parent and has been further developed with support from Carefree Kids and Support from the Start.
Our aim is to ensure that every child in East Lothian has access to a suitable school uniform.
With this in mind, we are looking for donations of new or used good quality school uniform items. We are asking parents that as it nears the end of term, if they have any good quality items that they no longer have the use for to consider donating them to us.
We have also set up an Amazon Wishlist where new items can be purchased and donated to us.
The School Uniform Bank is in the process of building up a stock of school uniform items that will then be used to assist families who are referred on to us.
We would be grateful if this information can be passed onto parents/carers of children attending your school.
Please do not hesitate to contact us via email or Facebook if you require any additional information.
With thanks
Paula Edmond
