Scottish government has 5 Modern Apprentice opportunities situated in the Science Advice for Scottish Agriculture (SASA) department of the Scottish Government.

The 5 Modern Apprenticeship posts are as follows:
- 2 X Seed Analysts within the Official Testing Station (OSTS)
- 1 X Laboratory Diagnostician within the Virology and Zoology branch
- 1 X Laboratory Technician within the Pesticides and Wildlife branch
- 1 X Herbage and Vegetable Trials Analyst
Entry requirements are 5 S Grades at 3 or above.
SASA has arranged a morning and afternoon taxi service for staff commuting by public transport. This taxi service links SASA to the Royal Bank of Scotland headquarters at Gogarburn which is well served by the city’s bus network.
