The Haddstock-Knox Music Project 2022 involved Samba Street Band, Just Sing! Songwriting, Goat's Toes & Build-A-Band with a focus on Inclusion, Resilience & Hope. In Spring 2022, this project encouraged first steps back to live performance & music making after a long season of restrictions. The video was shot by Knox students and edited by professional film maker Rob McDougall. Students also performed live at St Mary's Church in Haddington on Saturday 28 May 2022.
Participants from Knox Academy write an original song during the Just Sing!Songwriting workshops in March 2022 entitled Hold Your Hope Up on the themes of Resilience and Hope. Further information and chords can be found in the information sheet.
Haddstock took place on Saturday 28 May 2022 and Sunday 29 May 2022, bringing Haddington’s venues and streets to life with music and community arts, celebrating local talent for all to enjoy. Over 80 artists performed, exhibited and facilitated events across 19 venues, providing a platform for young people to play alongside established artists. The festival attracted more than 4k people over the weekend creating a buzz around town and a sense of normality for pubs, cafes and the community after the pandemic. A huge well done to all our students and staff at Knox Academy who performed with such enthusiasm & creativity during the festival!
