Congratulations to Angela MacDonald who was appointed as the Curriculum Leader of Science following a successful interview on Tuesday. She will start this post on 12 August 2024.
Next session we have three probationers: Rebecca Milliken – Modern Studies; Kathryn Coats – PE; Elijah Morris – Physics (and Science)
P7 Information Evening
It was lovely to welcome parents/carers and P7 pupils to our information evening last night. The P7s have now embarked on their three day visit with us and we hope they have an amazing time getting to know their new peers, teachers and wider staff and experiencing what Knox Academy will offer them full time in August.
Evening of Celebration
Rehearsals for this will take place on Wednesday 19 June, S1 and S2 pupils receiving an award will have their rehearsal at 10am in the Assembly Hall. S3-S6 pupils, at 11.30am. All those receiving an award must attend these rehearsals so they know where to sit and when to come up to the stage. Thank you.
This Evening of Celebration takes place on Thursday 20 June, with the S1-S2 ceremony at 6pm and the S3-S6 ceremony at 8pm.
Grease
The school musical – Grease starts on Monday and runs for two evenings. Tickets are on sale every lunch time, the school office (anytime) and will also be available on the night. Tickets cost £7 for adults and £5 children/concessions.

Lil Things
Get your summer holidays sorted for FREE!
Pick up new-to-you clothes, books, puzzles, toys, games and more at the Lil Summer Swish: Haddington Library and Lodge St on Friday June 21 (noon- 3pm) & Saturday June 22 (11am-3pm). All items will be free. Please donate items to Haddington Library or the Aubigny Sports Centre. (Aubigny until its close on 14/6).
Lil will be joined by other organisations also offering free eco activities, information and goodies, such as our local Co-ops, Sustrans will offer a Dr Bike for free bike maintenance and Cycling UK's Angie Kinghorn will be chatting about summer cycling opportunities, from non-cyclists to pros.

Our friends at Jabberwocky Soft Play are supporting the event, with half price coffee to anyone who remembers their reusable cup.

Successes
This term we awarded 10 achievement ties and two endeavour certificates. The endeavour certificates were awarded to Freya Robinson for her commitment to the Eco-Committee and Lucy Darling for her performance in ‘Thirteen’ (musical) at the Brunton. Half colour ties were awarded to Ashley Cowie and Matthew Cecil for their commitment and performances in Rugby; to Lewis Grant for competitive Swimming; Calum Hynd for playing league level Football, Freya Maycock for playing and coaching Hockey; Poppy Davidson-Kelly for her performance in Tennis and Alexander McBain for his commitment to Air Training Corps. Full-colours ties were awarded to Gabia Jagminaite for performance at National Level Gymnastics; Harry Hudson for National level (Scottish and UK) for Ice Hockey, Ava Smith for National Level Football and William Gold for National Level Bagpiping.
Dressage
Congratulations to Cameron Calder (S2) who came 1st in the Dressage Championship test, walk and trot at the Regional Qualifier Championships which were held at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre on 26th May. This also means Cameron qualified for the National Championships to be held in Hartpury in the summer and we wish him all the best for this. Cameron also came 2nd in the Grade 7 Walk Test and 1st in the Equestrian Photography Competition.
Orienteering Festival
Congratulations to our S2 team, made up of William Nathan, Jonah Pegg and Freddy Fendick, who won the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival for their age group. They got presented with a fantastic trophy which will now be displayed in our school.
