Poltergeist

Have all the witches and warlocks been safely chased away now that All Saints Day has passed? I hope so. But some of you may still have Halloween parties to go to - the spooky stuff is still around!
Poltergeist is a spooky word that came up in class this week. It means " a ghost or other supernatural being supposedly responsible for physical disturbances such as throwing things around." Interestingly, it comes form two German words "poltern" (create a disturbance), and "Geist" (ghost), hence "noisy ghost."

Why not write this word in your Language Toolkit (blue book)? Don't have one? Why not find a notebook and start a collection of interesting language?
More next week.
