Correspondence Secretary to the First Minister

Scottish Government are offering a particularly high profile Apprentice opportunity as part of a team which provides dedicated correspondence and administrative support to the First Minister, based in St Andrews House, Edinburgh. This post will be part of a team who provide administrative and correspondence support to the First Minister, Alex Salmond. The successful candidate will play a role in the effective handing of all correspondence within the First Minister's Private Office.

Essential Criteria

  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain effective networking and team working relationships
  • Sound judgement; prioritisation and decision making skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of using Word, Outlook, Excel and an interest in working at the heart of the organisation
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the wider political environment
