The Music Department hosted a pop-up LUNCHTIME LIVE last term and it was a fantastic success. Students invited their friends along and performed in an informal, supportive setting.

We are delighted to announce we will now have LUNCHTIME LIVE the last Wednesday of every month. This month it will be Wed 30th September 1:15 - 1:45pm.

If you would like to perform just pop along to the large music classroom (Mus 2) during lunch and pop your name on the white board. This will be the running order. Invite your favourite teacher or friends along to watch you!

There will be amps, piano, drum kit, speakers for backing tracks etc.

No entrance/exit during performances. Once you've performed you can stay to watch the other performers or head off.

This is open to all students and staff at Knox Academy...

The Association for Language Learning and the NorthEast Network for Languages are running a competition exploring how carefully chosen words can make a difference to someone who reads them. Create a text including a meaningful message (it could be a poster, blog, advert, letter, narrative, poem etc.) in a language you are learning. Your message could inspire, support or connect with someone, showing how carefully chosen words help us express ideas that truly matter. Give your submission to Ms. Laudi by Wednesday 30th September 2026.

All students are invited to create a poster illustrating the theme ‘Languages unite!’.  This can use artwork, symbols and quotes to reflect how languages bring people together and serve as a vehicle for reaching across linguistic and cultural divides. AI generated posters are not permitted - we are looking for original work. Submit your poster to Ms. Laudi by Friday 2nd October 2026 and it will be entered into the European Centre for Modern Languages competition.

All staff & students are welcome to come along to Knox Choir rehearsals - Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:15pm in my room in the Music Department.

We sing fun warm-ups to relax and energise and then spend some time learning harmony for songs we're working on. At the moment it's Don't Worry Baby by The Beach Boys.

I will be auditioning for the male solo at the start of choir (practice room) so will task a couple of students to lead the warm-ups in my room.

S1s - we would love you to join. If you perform 3 times with Knox Choir at concerts then you will be eligible to order your pink hoodie :-)

Thank you!
