This topic is on microbes. We start by looking at different types of microbes then investigate where they're found, why they're important and how they reproduce. The spread of infections is studied and pupils will do their own research into the flu and HIV. Pupils will learn about vaccinations and how they work before moving on to look at biotechnology - using microbes to produce bread, cheese, yoghurt and washing powders.
