This topic begins with chemical reactions - what are they and how we can tell that one has happened? We then look at chemical reactions that give out energy and those that take energy in. Chemical and physical changes will be examined before moving onto acids and alkalis. We will make an indicator and learn about the pH scale. Neutralisation reactions will be learned about and we will use the example of stomach powder to help us understand this. We finish this topic by looking at acids and metals, acids and metal oxides and acids and metal carbonates.
