Drinking water is part of good health and a balanced diet. As a Health Promoting School we would encourage pupils to drink water regularly and appropriately, in particular as a replacement for fizzy or sugary drinks.
Knox Academy has recently invested in water fountains throughout the school and with the support of KASG has been able to provide each pupil with a reusable water bottle which allows water to be carried around the school.
As a result we would like to draw parents and carers attention to the revised Drinking Water policy which can be accesed within the Publications > Policy and Procedures section of the website - click here. Assemblies have been held this week to inform pupils of the revised arrangements and to issue the water bottles.
Lothian & Borders Police Community Safety Branch have asked us to pass on the following message:
Over recent years, during Halloween, there has been a rapid increase in young people throwing eggs at houses, shops and pedestrians.
It can cause a great deal of mess, inconvenience and annoyance to people.
Just think - would you want someone to do this to someone in your family?
We would hope that no Knox Academy pupils would involve themselves in this type of behaviour.
