This summer Children’s BBC in Glasgow launches a brand new game show hosted by Pete Firman, called “Wait for It..!” Hailing from a department already responsible for some of CBBC’s biggest shows ‘Raven’, ‘Get 100’, ‘Stakeout’, ‘Ed and Oucho’s Excellent Inventions’ this promises to be another CBBC hit.
We’d like to invite viewers and fans of CBBC to take part in the studio recordings which are due to take place at the start of the school summer holidays.
There is a an amazing opportunity for children aged between 9-13 years old to come into Studio A at Pacific Quay and be part of the audience for the game. The show itself is a great mix of questions and game play, where contestants must wait as long as possible to answer in order to score maximum points. The main aim of the game is to avoid being plunged into a large pool of gunge!
The lucky audience members will enjoy a ring side seat at the pool of gunge and get to cheer on contestants throughout! Not to be missed.
For more information contact us now at waitforitaudience@bbc.co.uk or on 0141 422 6769. Recording dates are Tues 30th June – Fri 10th July (inclusive).
Reminder to all pupils moving from S4 into S5, that they return to school at 8.44am on Tuesday 2nd June for their S5 Induction Day. Their new timetable begins on Wednesday 3rd June.

We have been made aware that there is now guidance on the parentzone website (address below) for parents and carers that are concerned about school closures and effects on the SQA exams by the Swine Flu outbreak.
The advice also has links to the NHS website and the leaflet that is being sent out by the government.

Kelvin Craig, Gareth Evans, Gabby Jackson, Conor McHugh and Fraser Thomson took part in the Young SET (Science, Engineering and Technology) Ambassadors Challenge this year ... and won! This is a competition run by Edinburgh University and open to all schools throughout the Lothians. The project brief that the team were given was to select an area of the school and propose a way of making a significant saving in the consumption of energy.
The project lasted for 4 months and the team worked extremely hard to produce a detailed report and model. They were assigned a mentor from Scottish & Newcastle Ltd (Mr Darren Goodwin) who attended many of their team meetings and supported them throughout the project.
On Friday 8th May they returned to Edinburgh University for the final, where they presented their work to the panel of judges. Competition was fierce, but the team were brilliant and won 1st prize...a whopping £1000.00 for Knox Academy.
The team will now progress to the CREST Awards which is a Scotland wide competition. We wish them every success and sincerely congratulate them on their efforts to date. Thanks must also go to Miss Leggatt who has worked with the team throughout the project.
