All parents of pupils at Knox Academy are part of the school's parent forum and can influence what happens in our school.  The Parent Council aims to collect everyone's views, represent them and work with the school to make sure all pupils get the best outcome from their time at Knox Academy.  While being on the Parent Council is not for everyone, we hope you will find our new twitter account @KnoxParents (and existing Facebook page) useful and an easy way to get in touch with us and let us know your views.

In order to continue to support families through this period of school closures due to Covid 19, East Lothian Council is continuing to provide free school meals to those children and young people who are eligible. 

YOU NEED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION BY MIDDAY ON THURSDAY 26 MARCH 2020

At the moment, we are putting plans in place, for example, this may be through a Children’s Hub which will be established in each of our largest communities to provide childcare for keyworkers or through delivery to a drop off point in our more remote communities. In order for the Council to prepare for this service, please could you provide the following information:

• Do you wish your child/ren to continue to receive a free school meal?
• If so, can you provide their name, address and the days a free school meal will be required. 
• Could you also provide details of any child/ren you have in nursery?   

Please email this information back to admin@knox.elcschool.org.uk by tomorrow, Thursday 26 March 2020 at 12 noon at the latest. 

Free school will be served from the 6 children’s hubs from 11.30am until  12.30pm:

• Dunbar Primary School (John Muir Campus),
• St Mary’s Primary School/Haddington Primary School (infants building),
• Law Primary School, North Berwick,
• Preston Tower Primary School (infants building), Prestonpans,
• Sanderson’s Wynd Primary School, Tranent, 
• Pinkie St Peter’s Primary School, Musselburgh

SQA has just released their statement following the First Minister’s announcement on Sunday.

The current public health advice has meant that SQA have had to make some really difficult decisions about coursework. This means that for this year, schools and colleges are not required to submit learner coursework for marking, in Higher and Advanced Higher courses.

We await further advice from the SQA regarding the estimation of grades to be submitted by teachers.
