Threats of a return from The Beast From the East have been swirling around this week, but fortunately no sign of extreme weather conditions as yet, although within the space of 18 hours the temperature changed from 11’ to -2’. No wonder we’ve been feeling hot, cold, somewhere in between and perhaps a bit unsettled as a result.

We are delighted to welcome a new learning assistant to the fold and observing from afar as I have done since Wednesday it would be impossible to tell that she has only been with us for 3 days. Scholar offer over thirty online courses for Scottish schools aligned to the SQA curriculum at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher level. They draw on the knowledge and experience of teachers working in Scottish schools and our authors share their wealth of experience as educators.

All students are welcome to attend Online Tutor Sessions which are interactive events on a variety of fundamental areas hosted by subject specialists who have extensive teaching experience.

Details of upcoming revision sessions can be found on the Scholar website along with an archive of recordings of past sessions.

The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 is about improving the wellbeing of children and young people in Scotland. The Act is wide ranging and includes key parts of the Getting it right for every child approach, commonly known as GIRFEC.

TICKETS ON SALE THIS WEEK

The next fundraising activity for the Knox Academy PTA is our annual Burns' Supper - a very enjoyable evening!

This will take place on Thursday 24th January 2018, 7-10 pm in the Food Court at Knox Academy.

Wine, beer and soft drinks will also be available on the night.

Tickets are £10 (Adult) and £5 (Child) and along with any further information, can be obtained from Mrs Ball, Miss Borwick or via the School Office 01620 823387,

Pupils following certificated PE have to get practical grades in 2 different activities (except Advanced Higher).  These performances must be done under pressure, in a competitive environment.  In order to give pupils the best opportunity to get their grades Knox PE department run 2 'one off performance' days.  The dates of these days should be put in your diary as pupils will need to attend BOTH dates!
