Thanks to everyone who supported World Mental Health day by wearing yellow and buying cakes, oranges and sunflowers from our stall.

We managed to raise £59.10 for the charity Young Minds and have raised awareness of mental health.

Friday 11 October 2019 is a dress down day to fundraise to help Knox Academy achieve the Silver Award for the LGBT Charter.

Pupils are encouraged to wear purple and to bring in a donation.

10 October 2019 is World Mental Health Day

We would like to raise awareness of the day by wearing something yellow. 

Please support the day and you can make an optional donation to the charity during registration. There will be a Bake Sale at break time in the foyer.

Due to an issue beyond our control the Browns Book Bus has had to be canceled for this Thursday. We are hoping that we will be able schedule the bus to come another time soon.

Poppyscotland materials have arrived. As agreed at the meeting last week, we will be meeting after school today in M.11 (Bus Ed) to organise poppies and tins. All members of the team should be there. If you cannot attend, please see Laura or Kuba or Mr Flood.

There will be a meeting in T2.2 (Ms. Cahoon's classroom) on Thursday 10 Oct at 1:30pm for pupils attending the King's Theatre trip to see Frankenstein. The trip takes place on the day pupils return back to school following the October Break (23 Oct.); please see Ms. Cahoon THIS WEEK for details of the trip if you are unable to attend the meeting.

The trip to the King's Theatre to see An Inspector Calls is TOMORROW (Wed 9 Oct). Pupils are allowed out of class at 12:40pm to have lunch in the food court before meeting at the front foyer at 12:55pm. We return back to Knox at approx. 5:30pm. Please see Ms. Cahoon if you have any questions or concerns.

IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR THURSDAY.

This Thursday (10 October 2019) 1G1, 1G2 and the 2nd half of 1T1 will be going to to Edinburgh College.  Make sure you check with your register teacher that you are on the list for this Thursday.

All you will need on Thursday is a warm, waterproof jacket and a packed lunch. You should be in full dress code. If you normally get a school lunch then go to the food court BEFORE registration and choose a lunch.  Mention to the ladies that you are going on the S1 trip.

As soon as you register go to the food court and meet with Mr Dickie.

A Book Bus will be visiting Knox on Thursday 10 October, where you will have the opportunity to browse and buy from over 4,000 titles on board a double-decker bus.

Further announcements will be made in English classes, if you would like to go please speak to your English teacher or Miss Todd in the library. Remember to bring cash!

Race night on Friday 11th October at Haddington Rugby Club to raise money for Young Enterprise group, "Madhatters". Tickets are £3 (includes raffle and snacks) and can be bought on the night. Starts at 7:30 and all age groups are welcome!

We are starting a Creative Writing Club immediately after the October holidays on Tuesday lunch in the library.

As part of the achievement nomination process, Mr Moncrieff requires two pupils from each year to sit on the achievement committee. This is an excellent opporunity to contribute towards the school and enhance your CV. It will be conducted within school hours, and will only happen twice this academic year. If interested, please make yourself known to Mr Moncrieff in his classroom, on a Monday or a Tuesday.
