DRUM LESSONS: The Instrumental Music Service has spaces to take on new S1s for free drum lessons. Students would be taught in a small group for 20 minutes on a Wednesday in the drum room by tutor Mr Wilson. The timetable would change so you wouldn't miss the same class every week.

If you are interested in learning how to play the drum kit then please pop along and give your name to Mrs Middlemiss in the Music Department BEFORE the end of school on Friday 3rd October. Mr Wilson will audition everyone interested. You could also email your interest: mmiddlemiss@edubuzz.org

The Reading Leadership Group is meeting in the library TODAY at Lunchtime (Tuesday 30 September 2025).

Please come along and have your say on all things reading! We will be working towards applying for a Reading Schools grant to get more great books that you love.

Our European Week of Languages is coming to an end and we've loved seeing everyone's enthusiasm for languages! At our S3 EuroOlympics and S1 EuroQuiz, students competed fiercely for house points! So far, the houses have earned the points below!

There's still time to get more points! Make sure your registration class completes the "Guess the Language & Teacher Challenge" by submitting one answer set into the Google Form. The top 3 registration classes will win points for their house! Bonne chance!

The Right of the week is - Article 7 Name and Nationality

Children must be registered when they are born and given a name which is officially recognised by the Government.

children must have a nationality (belong to a country).  Whenever possible, children should know their parents and be looked after them.  

Please discuss this in registration - what is your nationality?  What does it mean to belong to your country?  What would you miss if you had to flea your country because of war?

Voting is open until  Monday 6 October 2025 for the Scottish Youth Parliament By-election. One of our own pupils, Maya Borkowski, is running so make sure to vote and show your support!

All students who have paid for a "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief Musical ticket should attend a short but VERY IMPORTANT Meeting in the BIG GYM on TUESDAY 23 September 2025. 

This year the Macmillan Coffee Morning will take place on Thursday 25 September 2025 at lunch time in the Social Area.

The pupil bake sale requires pupils to bake in order sell their goodies (please, no nuts). We would ask that you bring these to HE in the morning of Thursday 25 September 2025, clearly labeled which House that you belong to. 

The House who raises the most money for Macmillan will earn a whopping 50, yes 50 house points!  This will be run by the House Captains.

This is all in aid of a wonderful cause that has helped so many people and families, so please consider baking and donate whatever you can.

Future Assets competition enables girls in Scottish schools to learn about investing, experience what it’s like to work in finance and gain valuable skills. 

Teams learn about the world of investing whilst competing in our national competition for a chance to win up to £1000 for their school and up to £200 in vouchers per team member.

Teams of girls (3-6) are challenged to research, analyse and pitch a company they think is a great long-term investment.

Reminders:

• All pupils should go to their Period 3 class to register - there, you will have the option to leave your bag, or take it with you.
• Your class teacher can confirm the location of your event if required, and then you make your way to this location. If you have more than one activity you should go to whatever activity comes first (in numerical order), and then make your way to the next one.
• Once your activity is finished, you should then make your way to your designated area on the outside pitches to meet the rest of your House and the House Captains.
• We've planned today, trying to make this as fun as possible for you! Please give it your best go, have fun all whilst embodying the school values!

One day to go, before the Apache Relay kicks off and thank you to those of you that have signed up to ensure that your House has the best chance of winning! Its not too late to sign up, so please do so today - either via. your registration teachers, class teachers or your House Captains. 

Period 3 tomorrow, please go to your normal Period 3 class and ensure you are registered. Your Period 3 teacher will then provide you with further instructions and timings. Please ensure you know what you've signed up for and the location of your event.

If you have an outdoor event, the location of these can be shared by your class teachers (also attached). Otherwise, all indoor events have rooms assigned that you can see displayed on the sign up sheet!

Any questions, in the first instance, please speak to your class teachers, and if still unsure, pop down to PE!
