A few reminders about PE department rules:

  1. The PE department is CLOSED to pupils at break and lunch - no pupil should be using the door at the end of the changing room corridor to get out on to the field or back in to the school at the end of break or lunch.  The only exception is if there is a lunch time sports club running.
  2. The PE department will NOT lend their own equipment at break and lunch.  If you want to play football/rugby/basketball - bring a ball in and we will look after it so you can use it at these times.
  3. The PE department is a 'one-way' system.  You should ONLY be in the PE corridor if you have PE at the time - not to use as a short cut to get to the stairs for science.  You can use the food court to get to the stairs!

Since 2019 Knox Academy has recognised achievement in school based extra-curricular and non-school based wider achievements through the award of Achievement Ties.  The Achievement Ties committee meets twice yearly to discuss nominations and allocation of Achievement Ties. There are two categories of Achievement Tie that can be awarded 'half colours' and 'full colours'.  Please note that both staff and pupils can nominate individual pupils for the awards.  For information on eligibility for the awards please see the Achievement Ties document.

Nominations are now open and can be completed through a Google Form(link is external).

The deadline for nominations for this academic year will be Friday 9th May 2025.  Any applications received after this date will role on to the next meeting of the committee (December 2025).

If you are willing to join the pupil committee who help make judgments on awards please come and speak with Mr Clark.

We are now a Silver Rights Respecting School.

Well done to the RRSA group and everyone else involved.

Our Right of the Week is Article 2 "No discrimination"

"All children have all these rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what language they speak, what their religion is, what they think, what they look like, if they are a boy or a girl, if they have a disability, if they are rich or poor, and no matter who their parents or families are or what their parents and families believe or do.  No child should be treated unfairly."

Thanks everyone. :-)
