A list of pupils attending the theatre trip to the Lyceum, Edinburgh on Friday 13th December is now up in the Drama corridor. Please check your name is on the list if you think you are going to see A Christmas Carol.
There shall be a meeting about the trip on WED 4TH DECEMBER at 1.15 in the Drama Studio for those who are coming. Bring your lunch!
There will be a meeting for S1-3 pupils who have shown interest in the quiz. Any other S1-3 pupils who wish to get involved please come along.
The meeting will be on Thursday at lunchtime from 1.30pm; if you are interested but cant make that please come along at break or get a message to Mr Clark.
QUIZ:
Teams will consist of THREE pupils, one each from S1, S2 and S3.
Teams will compete in a local heat and the winning team and runner up from each local (heat held before Easter) will travel to a Scottish final taking place in June – venue TBC.
See Mr Clark in M8 as soon as possible or leave your name with Miss Stobie.
The topics for the first heats are found below and Mr Clark plans on running some lunchtime/afterschool coaching sessions to help those involved.

A reminder to all National PE pupils that there is study support sessions after school on Mondays and Wednesday with Miss Graham and Thursdays with Mr Tainsh. Please come along to PE after school if you are interested in receiving support or to go over prelim work in order to allow you to be prepared and feel confident with course material.
We are a young enterprise team called oceanic and we are going to be selling our products around the school to teachers and pupils and whoever else would like one. Our product is an Eco Pack containing a bamboo toothbrush, 2 face wash pads, a metal straw and a months worth of tooth tabs. Our product would be a great gift for anyone, it is useful, gender neutral, beneficial to the environment and starts you off into the world of reusable and eco friendly products. 8 June 2020 to 12 June 2020 - a week of fun and inspiration!
Engineering the Future for Girls, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering in the University of Strathclyde is designed to engage girls in a wide range of engineering challenges that will inspire them to become the next generation of engineers.
There are 100 places available which are fully-funded by BP and BAM Ritchies, for this year’s summer school. It's a non-residential summer school and travel to and from the University of Strathclyde campus (Glasgow city centre) is required. All student costs, including a contribution towards travel and lunch costs, will be covered. Please note that accommodation costs are not included for those who wish to stay in Glasgow during the week. No teacher supervision is required but the provision of a teacher’s supporting statement is necessary for the application to be considered.

This Friday at BREAK TIME in front of the trophy cabinets the S6 team will be taking orders (and money) for the photographs you would like printed. We are only doing this on FRIDAY - so make sure you get your orders done! Photographs are 50p each. If you are still unsure what photographs you want printed go and check the notice board in PE for the code.
Not long to go till PE do a clear out of any kit we find that is not ours. Your trainers, t-shirts, joggies, jumpers, etc will be getting donated to local charity shops in 1 week's time! Come and check we are not discarding your favourite pair of Nike's!

Two places for S1 have become available on the Christmas theatre trip to the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh to see a production of A Christmas Carol. The trip leaves at 9am on 13 December 2019, return to school by 1pm and costs £16.50. See Miss Whitfield or Miss MacDonald for a permission letter as soon as possible. More information about the production can be found on the Lyceum website.
Can all people going on the New York trip attend a meeting in Miss Stobie's room M.9 at break time on Monday (18/11/19) to pick their menu choices.

Halloween Dance photos are now on display on a notice board in the PE department. If you want a copy of any photographs you need to take a note of the number below the photo and next week at break times S6 pupils will be available to place your order and take payment. The cost is 50p per photograph.
PE are doing a clear out!! There are a number of pairs of trainers, t-shirts, shorts and trackies that belong to pupils that have been left in the little PE office. ALL kit will be recycled/donated at the end of November if not claimed. Please make sure you come and check if anything is yours before it gets recycled!
For Children in Need 2019 the S6 charities committee have organised a range of exciting fundraisers for Friday breaktime including a sponsored head shaving, a bake sale and pie-ing the teachers!
Please remember to bring in a donation if you are wearing something spotty or yellow!

At S3 Parents Night on Wednesday 6 November, the Eco-Committee will leave its uniform rack in the front hall for parents who would like to take additional uniform items for their children. There is no charge for taking any items - the goal is to support families and to reduce clothing waste!
There will also be a donation box for anyone who would like to donate uniform items to us. We are accepting all sizes of blazers, white shirts, black jumpers, trousers, and skirts. Please ensure that uniform donations are clean before bringing them in. As a reminder, no hoodies will be accepted as these are no longer part of the Knox uniform.
All swimmers taking part should come to PE straight after registration on Thursday morning prior to departure- please have your £3.00 for the bus. Please ensure you have your lunch with you alongside any equipment that you need. If they require goggles please see Ms Borwick before Thursday. You should also be in full dresscode for when you return to school.
REMINDER: those that have signed up to the netball tournament on Thursday, please come to PE straight after school when the bell goes. Please ensure you have appropriate clothing and footwear and your £3.00 for the bus.

As some of you may be aware a group of S3 students are heading off to Zambia and Botswana in June-July 2021 on an expedition. I have heard rumblings that some people were wishing they had signed up. There are still places available for this exciting opportunity if anyone in S3 is interested.
