The NHS Vaccination Team are in Knox this Friday morning, 25th March, to offer those who DO NOT already have consent for forthcoming HPV vaccinations in April the opportunity to do so.  We plan on offering this as a "drop in facility" like before, as there has been a relatively high uptake for consent already.  There are very few pupils with outstanding consent so if your child is in S2 /S3 please do not be alarmed as they will already have previous consent from last year’s roll out, unless they have opted out of the Immunisation programme.

S1 pupils should have already returned their consent forms; however if they have not they can use the facility, located at the Social area beside the trophy cabinet, on Friday to sign up for their HPV vaccination.

Please see below for the timetable for Friday

  • S1 pupils -09.00hrs
  • S2 pupils - 09.40hrs
  • S3 pupils - After break, start of P3

Over the last 2 years Knox Academy has recognised achievement in school based extra-curricular and non-school based wider achievements through the award of Achievement Ties.  There are two categories of achievement where 'half colour' ties and 'full colour' ties are awarded.  There may also be Endeavour Certificates awarded for those not quite achieving half or full colour awards.

We are looking for volunteers to represent S1 and S2 pupils and become committee members.  Committee members will make decisions on who or what qualifies for an award.  This is a great opportunity and is something you can add to your experiences which will be useful in applying for other positions or jobs in the future.  Taking part will demonstrate communication skills as you will share your opinions with others; it will also demonstrate you go above and beyond by contributing to the wider school community.

If you are willing to participate please come and see Mr Clark in Room M8 at morning break on Monday 14 March 2022.  If you are unable to attend then please email: aclark1@edubuzz.org or drop in at lunchtime.

Over the last 2 years Knox Academy has recognised achievement in school based extra-curricular and non-school based wider achievements through the award of Achievement Ties.  Under normal circumstances the Achievement Ties committee meets twice yearly to discuss nominations and allocation of Achievement Ties. Due to Covid this is the first and only chance for this academic year to nominate someone.  The reason for this was that we felt opportunities to be eligible for these Awards had been reduced. It is the intention that these awards are issued later in the session toward the end of May.  There are two categories of achievement where 'half colour' ties and 'full colour' ties are awarded.

Nominations can be completed through an updated form.

For information please see the attached Presentation. A presentation to pupils is planned on this in the next few weeks.

The deadline for nominations this session will be Friday 6 May 2022.
