A huge thanks to Mrs Lackie and Mrs Fairbairn for pulling it all together. Apologies for link not working previously Read more here...Newsletter 06.03.2020

I would describe 2019 as the Year of Serendipity for Meadowpark: so many opportunities for collaboration, fund-raising, engagement with groups and organisations, planning, evaluating and achieving were made possible by a hard working staff team, supportive and enthusiastic parent body and of course our determined young people.

2020 looks to be more of the same which is excellent news. Read more here...28.02.2020

When it comes to thinking about options, parents have a big influence on what our children choose to do. So, that means we need to know what we are talking about. It’s up to us to take the long view because that’s harder for young people to do: it’s not just about now; it’s also about what’s up ahead and makes most sense based on the future job market.

The document "Learner Journey in a Nutshell" has been produced to highlight different paths available for individuals and references many useful additional documents.

East Lothian Council are holding a careers and job event 10 am - 2 pm, on Saturday 7 March 2020 at Queen Margaret University.

The event focuses on the wide range of opportunities available in Early Learning and Childcare – including jobs available now.

It’s a growing sector – by 2020 the sector in Scotland will need up to 11,000 new recruits. Not all of these will work directly with children as practitioners, managers or childminders, but also in support services such as catering.

It’s a free event for anyone who has an interest in this area, or who would like to find out more.

A range of exhibitors will be there covering every aspect of the industry.

It’s never too early or too late to play a difference in shaping young children’s lives.

More details are available on the East Lothian Council Website.
