"You Can Be A Doctor are a charitable organisation both founded and run by doctors and medical students. We aim to assist those from disadvantaged backgrounds with their applications to medicine. We understand that not all Scottish pupils have the same advantages when it comes to applying to university, particularly to a competitive course like medicine. We believe strongly in diversifying our profession and therefore work closely with Reach and state schools to deliver our events.
We are running a free UCAT summer program this summer for pupils in 5th or 6th year who are applying to medicine in October 2021."
Anyone looking for part-time or full-time work, please see the attached flyer for current vacancies in East Lothian.
For further information, please speak to Mr Flood or your Pupil Support Leader.

The quadrangle area outside the social area, will now be closed at breaks and lunchtimes following ongoing anti-social behaviour from a number of pupils. The year groups using this area should now go to the playing fields during both lunch and break. All year groups can also now leave the school premises at lunchtime only, should you wish to do so.
Pan Visibility Day is on 24 May 2021 and is a day to celebrate and recognise those who identify as Pansexual. Pansexuality is different from bisexuality but the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Being bisexual means being attracted to more than one gender, while being pansexual means being attracted to people regardless of gender.

Knox Academy has a uniform collection of black jumpers, black trousers and skirts, white shirts, fleece jackets, blazers, and ties ALL AVAILABLE FOR FREE FOR STUDENTS TO TAKE!
We have clothes in all sizes for all ages. If you need more uniform items at any time, please come see Ms. Laudi and she will show you the collection and let you take whatever fits you. There is absolutely no cost and we have so many clothes, that we'd actually prefer for students to start taking them! This is a great way to help the environment by not purchasing new items and as an added bonus, you get to save money too.
Please don't be shy! Come see what clothes we have before we start the next academic year!
The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia was created in 2004 to draw the attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex people and all other people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and sex characteristics.
The date of May 17th was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.
The Day represents a major global annual landmark to draw the attention of decision makers, the media, the public, corporations, opinion leaders, local authorities, etc. to the alarming situation faced by people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and sex characteristics.
