Knox Academy U15 took on Longridge Towers in a friendly rugby match on Wednesday afternoon. In dreich conditions the Knox lads started off well but ended up conceding the first try with some sloppy defence. the homeside rallied and ran in a well worked try, from the resulting kick off Duncan Riley caught the ball and sped up the wing unchallenged and scored again.

Knox made changes at half time and there was a debut for Findlay Wilson his first action was to tackle a lad twice as big as him which he did so with ease! The visitors started to pile the pressure on and scored a few tries to get up a lead, Knox shuffled the team about and Charlie Gates ran in 2 tries in quick succession.

The match was closing to an end and the hoe team were winning by 9 points then disaster struck Longridge manged to sneak over the try line and convert the try. It was all hands to the pump as Knox held on for the last 2 minutes winning by the slenderest of margins 2 points.
