Girls rugby will start back up on Monday 2 September 2024 after School, Come down to PE after school to see Graham. The session will finish at 4:30 pm.
It has been wonderful to see the Music Department so busy at Break and Lunch this term with bands, pianists etc. With so much demand we are now going to set up a booking system so please come along to Music at Break on Friday 30 September 2024 to get the names of your musical crew booked into a specific room and slot that you get to use until the October Break. We will try to allocate rooms evenly across the year groups.
The Music Department also has lots of extra-curricular groups to get involved in:

The Goats' Toes Folk Group is entirely student led and they have created an email address so you can ask questions about joining or let them know about any gig opportunities.

If any pupils would be interested in attending the football trip down to Newcastle to watch Newcastle United Vs Crystal Palace in March 2025. Please come down to PE to collect a letter ASAP. There is limited spaces left, In the case of spaces been oversubscribed names will be drawn from a hat.
Girls football training has had to be delayed due to the availability of the 3G. Training will start back now on Thursday 12 September 2024.

We look forward to welcoming Tempest Photography to Knox Academy on Tuesday 10 September 2024 to take individual photographs for S1 and S3 pupils.
We will also try and offer the opportunity to students who have recently enrolled at Knox Academy to have their photo taken.
A schedule will follow for exact timings, and teachers will release from class as appropriate. Everybody should return to class promptly after their photograph has been taken.
As usual, all students are expected to attend in full dress code including shirt/tie.
Parents/Carers will be given the option to purchase photographs and a range of gifts from Tempest afterwards.
Can all the House Captains please attend a short meeting in the assembly hall at 1.30pm on Thursday 29 August 2024 with Mrs Falconer. This is around planning assemblies next week.

S1-S3 Basketball club restarts today (26 August 2024) (3:30-4:30) - Come down to PE straight after school today to join in!
I am in based in the school library all day Mon/Tue/Wed and Thur morning.
All years can drop in or make an appointment.
- 1st Year: I’ll look forward to seeing you in your PSE classes soon. Feel free to pop in and say hello before then.
- 2nd Year: I’ll start to see you all for 1:1 appointments, from about November, to discuss your subject choices.
- 3rd Year: In the new year I’ll come to meet you in your PSE classes and kick start a discussion about your plans for the future.
- Senior phase students: Look out for a text or email inviting you for a careers appointment. However, if you would like an appointment earlier just get in touch.

There is a come and try rugby session after school today (21 August 2024) on the rugby pitches for all S1s - Meet Graham our Rugby Development Officer in PE straight after school.
The session will finish at 4:30pm.

The LGBT+ meeting will be held in T1.1 (Ms Fletcher's room) at 1.25pm at Wednesday lunchtime. New members are welcome and please feel free to bring your lunch along. You don't have to be LGBT+ to join, just an ally - someone who supports LGBT+ identities.

Pupils can get their N5 and Higher Art or Photography folios back via the SQA website or through school. It will cost £3.91 payable to the school office through IPay or by cash for those who have left school- you will receive a text when the payment is set up. If you have any questions please get in touch with the Art Department.

S6 Core is Period 5 today, Thursday. All S6 pupils should attend the same class as before the Summer holiday. There will be an Assembly next Thursday (22 August 2024) Period 5 to discuss options for this period. Any questions, please see Mr Flood.
If you have signed up to attend Wednesday's Book Festival trip, please attend a meeting in T2.2 (Ms Barnes' room) at 1:25pm on Thursday 15 August 2024. We have an exciting addition to our trip's events! You will need to take home a letter and consent form for your parents/guardians.
Reminder: PGL forms need to be back to Miss Bates or Mr Welsh ASAP. To guarantee your space it is vital you get those forms in AND start to pay as per the payment schedule, via schoolpay. Any issues come and speak to Miss Bates and Mr Welsh this week.
As we welcome Miss Coats to the PE department for this session, we would like to make you aware of a few minor changes in the department. Please take note of the following locations for registering with your class teacher:

We also want to give you a short reminder that you should be bringing appropriate kit to take part fully in PE. This should include a change of top and bottoms, and a pair of trainers if you wish. There is a small supply of kit to borrow in the department. We would also ask that you bring a water bottle with you, as we only have a very small amount of cups for use.
Finally, please note that the PE department is not open during break and lunch time, except for those taking part in lunch time clubs. This information will follow.
